Virtual Reality is a fascinating way to travel using nothing more than the power of technology. With a headset and motion tracking, Virtual Reality lets you look around a virtual space as if you're actually there. Today our class "traveled" to the Great Wall of China and Beijing, China using Google Virtual Reality glasses. Ask your student about this awesome experience!

Today we "blabberized" our Social Studies Alternative Assessments.
"Blabberize" is a photo editing tool that creates talking animations from a photo or other image. My students drew explorers and animated their drawings so that the explorers were reading the directions for their Treasure Hunt project. These turned out really cute and added an additional level of fun to the Alternative Assessment.

This week we will learn to identify Common and Proper nouns and will start practicing how to capitalize Proper nouns in sentences. Here's a video to continue the the learning at home:
We will be conducting a pumpkin experiment on Tuesday, October 31st. In order to do this, our classroom needs 6 carving-sized pumpkins! Please consider donating a pumpkin to our cause. We need pumpkins of medium & large size (not small or baking size). You may send it in as soon as you have it – you do not need to wait! You will not receive the pumpkins back (trust me - you wouldn't want them when we're through!), but I promise they'll be put to good scientific use!
