Your child is bringing home "Snow Day" work tonight. If tomorrow is a snow day, your child is responsible for completing the two worksheets and returning them on Wednesday, January 27th. They will be graded. This is in addition to tonight's regular homework.
Our testing schedule will remain the same: Thursday, January 28th - Earth & Moon Cycles Test Friday, January 29th – Patterns Math Test If we are out next Wednesday, your child needs to be prepared to take his/her Moon Test on Thursday. Review your study guide, reread your moon booklet, and play these interactive lessons online to help you prepare for the Science test. If we are out next Thursday, your child needs to be prepared to take BOTH the Moon Test and the Patterns Test on Friday! Review your study guide, review old worksheets, and use these online activities to help you prepare for the Math test. You may notice a few changes over the next few weeks as this website gets the TLC and upgrades it deserves. Most changes will occur under the "Curriculum" portion of the site, as I add specifically dedicated pages for each Unit in Math, Science, and Social Studies. Study guides and flashcards will still be available where they are located now (but will eventually be moved to these pages). I will also now have space to add videos, links to games, study materials, etc. I hope you'll find the new changes beneficial to you and your student!
Unfamiliar with the Phases of the Moon? Watch this video with your child to get a quick tutorial before helping with homework! Is your student a visual learner? Use these Vocabulary cards (created by our "Technology Guru" Dawn Knight) to help study for our next Science test! Your child's Reading homework this week will be to complete an at-home project about themselves! This project is NOT OPTIONAL and will count as a summative grade (60%) in Reading and Writing. The project materials will be coming home with your child today and the project will be due back on Tuesday, January 19th. Your child should use the time they would normally dedicate towards reading homework each evening to work on this project. If you lose any of the project papers, extra copies to download/print can be found below this post. |
