Does your child love video games? Does your family use Facebook? Much of the things we use in our daily lives are because of the hard work of computer science programmers. Today, your child learned to program an Angry Birds game, as part of our school's participation in "Hour of Code"
Students in our class loved seeing their "blocks" (programming code in disguise) help the bird move, turn, and destroy the pig. Students had to recognize patterns, use problem solving skills, and build code (using user-friendly "blocks) to make their bird move across the screen.
Learn more and keep encouraging these important skills at home with your child by signing up for a FREEaccount at studio.code.org. Students can build Minecraft games, Frozen character games, and so much more!
